Sandzak under Milosevic: Politics, Religion and the Bosniak Struggle for Autonomy

What were the characteristics and structure of the political struggle of the Bosniaks in Milošević’s Yugoslavia? What was the shape and form of the politics of the regimes in Belgrade and Podgorica towards the Bosniaks living in Serbia and Montenegro during the Milošević’s time in power?

Was the government hostile to the idea of multiculturalism and emancipation of ethnic and religious minorities? Was the Bosniak pro-autonomy movement successful in its endeavor? What was the role of religious institutions in Sandzak during the studied period? These are some of the most important questions which will be answered in my PhD dissertation.
